Our juices are raw which means they have not been cooked or subjected to high temperatures in the juicing process or pasteurized. This is the main reason why our juices have such a small shelf life. Our juices can last 5-7 days and almond milks 4-5 days if they are properly refrigerated.
While pasteurization process removes harmful bacteria, it also damages the vitamins, minerals and enzymes found in the juice. Without these vital nutrients, your juice no longer has the transforming health benefits it did prior to the heating process. In order to ensure you do not ingest any harmful bacteria, Juicense follows a strict cleaning, washing and sterilization guided by FDA process prior to juicing the fruits and vegetables.
Cold-pressed is the process of removing the juice from a fruit or veggie without any heat. As discussed in the pasteurization question above, heat destroys essential vitamins, minerals and enzymes you want and need in your juice. Cold-pressed is also a juicing process that removes the maximum amount of vitamins, minerals and
Juicense’s recipes have been carefully crafted by a group of health experts who designed each recipe to ensure your body gets what it needs. Our juices are not random fruits and vegetables thrown together, but instead are a combination of easily digested nutrients that help maximize the benefits of the vitamins, minerals and enzymes being ingested.
Everything we eat introduces high levels of acidity into our systems. For example, animal products like meat, eggs and dairy; processed foods like refined flour and sugar; and beverages like soft drinks and coffee are all acid forming. Too much acidity decreases the body’s ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients, hinders its ability to repair damaged cells, and makes it more susceptible to fatigue and illness.
Drinking alkaline water and consuming more alkalizing foods like vegetables and fruit, both whole and in cold-pressed juice form, help to neutralize this acid and keep your fluids within their optimal pH range.
Our water goes through a filtration system that ionizes it, raising the pH level to between 8 and 10.5 (7 being neutral, 0 being highly acidic and 14 being highly alkaline).
Cleansing is a way of clearing the toxic clutter from your system, and pressing reset. A cleanse can help you flush out the toxins that build up inside you over time. Done properly, this can improve your digestion, revamp your immune system and give you more energy.
Juicense programs are unique. We are the first juice company offering a cleanse which is not only based on juices but also food. Our cleanses include cold-pressed juices, nut milks, salads, healthy entrees, wellness shots as well as education and all the support you need.
It is suggested to do a food-based cleanse during each season. Renewal detox programs are geared toward seasonal foods that nourish specific organs. Also, as humans we strive for balance with the seasons so it’s safe to cleanse at least 4 times a year.
Yes. We offer three different programs that you can tailor to meet your needs. The length of the cleanse is also up to you: you can follow it for a single day, or for as many days as you wish. We recommend one to three days for a first cleanse.
You may lose a few pounds during a detox, but we do not view short-term weight loss as the focus of our cleanse program. Think of this as a chance to detoxify your body, reboot your system and break bad habits. We are far more concerned with long-term health gains than with the numbers on the scale from one day to the next.
We recommend that you start weaning off caffeine and sugar. at least 2-3 days before your detox. Ideally you will want to wean one week before your detox if it is possible.
For caffeine, limit your use. For example, if you drink 3 Diet Cokes a day; try for 1 and replace with water or an herbal tea. If you drink 4 cups of coffee, just drink 2, then half caf/half decaf.
For sugar, limit processed foods as much as possible. Artificial and added sugars hide out in boxed and bagged products. Also, try using natural sweeteners like stevia or raw honey until your detox starts.
The order in which the cleanse foods are listed is not arbitrary. We recommend that you follow the guidelines as much as you can however remember to think of them as only suggestions, not as a strict regime.
